New Life Radio broadcasts from Independence, Ks. We are an outreach ministry of New Family Church in Christ. Our goal is to help the believer in his/her walk with God, by playing music that exalts the Lord and allows the listener to think deeper about the issues we face on a daily basis. Also, we aim to show a world in need that in Christ, there is hope, love, and a new life.
While we prefer not to enter in to discussions about doctrine, and stick to the areas we as Christians all have in common, there are certain truths which we hold as sacred and non-negotiable. We believe without the shadow of a doubt that the Bible is the word of God, that it is without error, and that no other writing, teaching or decree can be added to or on equal authority as the Bible. Scripture servs for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. (2 Tim. 3:16) We believe in one triune God, made manifest in three distinct persons, all having the same essence of deity. (Tri meaning 3, une meaning one.) Some have tried to give human illustrations for the Trinity, such as H2O being water, ice and steam (all different forms, but all are H2O). Another illustration would be the sun. From it we receive light, heat and radiation. Three distinct aspects, but only one sun.
No illustration is going to be perfect.
But from the very beginning we see God as a Trinity. Notice the plural pronouns “us” and “our” in Genesis 1:26 — Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, was born of a virgin, was both fully God and fully man, was crucified and died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. He was raised to life again on the third day, just as He said would happen. This was a bodily He assended in to heaven, where He is now seated at the right hand of the Father. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only one who can interceed on our behalf before the Father. We believe in the rapture or catching away of the church, which will happen in the blink of an eye. We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ.
We believe in the personhood of the Holy Spirit. He is not just a force. He has a will and emotions. Upon accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell inside us, bringing us conviction of sin, enabling us to live a victorious and godly life, testifying to our spirit that we have been made sons and daughters of God, and imparting spiritual gifts to His people as He sees fit.
